No.
Not actually “following” their blog.
Literally following the virtual trail they’ve left… then sliding around them as you slip into their domain.
I do it all the time. It’s the easiest way to find new blogs, but it takes a certain type of blogger to make these types of connections.
You see most bloggers examine everything too closely.
“Well why did that person like my post?”
“Well why did they like only one…”
“Is it even a real person?”
“What real person calls themselves Fuckadoodle?”
“Can’t be a real blogger… must be a bot.”
Instead of going to “meet and greet” they are examining why the world turns as the world turns around them.
Me on the other hand, I take connection opportunities for what they are worth. A random blogger drops a like, even just one, and I’m hovering my app… I’ll sneak over. I’ll go through their door since it’s open… they left it open when they visited my website.
And I’ll see that it is indeed a real person, often a new blogger. I’ll normally tap on their shoulder in some way and I’ll say “hey, I saw you pass by and wanted to return the favor.” Another connection is made and that’s how you get to 100,000 subscribers if that’s really your goal. That’s how you build whatever it is you want to build.
It’s that simple and it doesn’t matter the size of your media reach. If you aren’t going to grind it out, you won’t ever sustain growth in this game.

Good advice, I don’t even try to keep up with all the stats and stuff. As long as I’m having fun, I’m happy bloggin’.

It’s not the size of the following. It’s the quality in terms of them reading, liking and commenting on your posts!
One day, recently I examined the stats of four blgggers on their posts.
Each had thousands of followers and on the posts in questions they had a total over 1,400 likes.
But only one comment in total!
You expect me to believe that over 1,400 ‘read and liked’ the posts but only one enough to make a comment. Even a LOL, smiley face, ‘ha’ or middle finger!?
Most ‘likes’ I fear are hit-and-run clicks! Content be damned!

Many may be, but even from those you can find real connections. 🙂👍
