Five Years of HarsH ReaLiTy

Well I guess it is that time again. I’m going to renew the site one more time and see where we go from there.

I just can’t bring myself to let https://aopinionatedman.com/ go and it become some online pine cone store. For the guy in the back that just thought… ‘what the fuck is an online pine cone store???’ Man… you just ain’t been living.

A blog is not a single post. A single post can get you famous of course… fame is such a loose term these days, but it can definitely accomplish that for normally the wrong reasons. A true blog paints a whole picture of what a blogger is or is becoming, or it should if a blogger is honest. Most bloggers aren’t.

I find it to be fun to own a website, in general, and call it your own. That’s what this blog is. Most people don’t think that is a big deal and that’s cool, they can have their opinion. Over there. The reason I still putter along over here is because a website never dies.

It only becomes an online pine cone store if you don’t pay the $150 to reup.

Let’s see what 2019 brings.

  1. Congrats on 5 years of Harsh Reality, OM! I miss seeing your posts. Haven’t been on in a while, but have been posting here and there on my two blogs along with other things that have consumed my life. Life has been pretty difficult, had some losses of loved ones and I’m finally trying to get back in the groove of writing and posting. I hope I continue to see you here for as long as you keep writing. Keep inspiring! -JD

  2. I am trying to think why one would need to buy pine cones online. Are they just plain pine cones, or have they been decorated? Can you buy pine cones online for different seasons, or is it only for Christmas? I looked up online pine cones – it turns out a lot of people sell pine cones online. The sugar pine cones go for quite a lot of money, $10 per cone – she explains that is because they are so messy and hard to deal with. Who knew there was money to be made in pine cones? Even Target and Amazon are in on it – the selling of pine cones. It’s amazing what I learn when I come visit your site!!!!

  3. If you keep “reinventing” this site it’ll wind up having no history at all (in a manner of speaking)
You’ve done that before—deleted many a classic post of yours. And the internet’s been even more the lesser for it.

One must hang on to their past works, no matter what kind of reservation they may have towards them, if simply for the sake of posterity.

  4. You, sir, cannot go anywhere. Yours is one of the few blogs that I look forward to reading on the regular. And since the universe revolves around me (hah, I wish!) then that means that damn pine cone store will have the fill the space of a different web address. 😉
