I try not to waste words… ideas or even random thoughts. Words can literally change meaning when seen in the light of a different day. That is not meant to be profound, it is just a simple truth of perception.
I find it amusing, personally, how long I will mentally file away a post. I almost never discard anything, although a few posts have received a “what the hell was that dude?” upon completion. Wasted words where do they go?
I am a sucker for a blank page or a fresh “anything.” It is like a new canvas for an artist, a new camera for a photographer, or the creation of a new recipe for a cook. To make something where once was nothing… the dream of any creator. As a writer of blog posts I feel comforted by the lack of requirement and even the lack of expectation that blogging presents. Writing can’t be the same feeling with pressure, like squeezing words beyond their meaning. Perhaps my disdain for that type of “motivational writing” will be why I will never pen anything greater than a blog post.
Maybe that ain’t such a bad thing.
